R-449A is suitable for use instead of R-404A and R-507 in commercial and industrial direct-expansion refrigeration systems for medium and low temperatures. Compared to R-404A and R-507, it ensures higher energy efficiency. It is safe and non-flammable, and it is an azeotropic mixture with low glide values, making for quick and easy retrofitting of systems charged with R-404A and R-507, since no component, lubricant (POE) or seal needs replacing.
