Nippon Sanso Contributes to Ethical AI with Continued Support for ELLIS Alicante

Nippon Sanso, a global leader in industrial and medical gases, is committed to fostering a future where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is developed and applied ethically, ensuring a positive impact on both industry and society. As part of this vision, the company has renewed its support to the ELLIS Alicante Foundation for the third consecutive year, funding research and innovation in the responsible AI field, striving for a positive impact in Europe.

ELLIS Alicante Foundation is part of the ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning & Intelligent Systems) network. This network works on the research and development of AI, focusing on fundamental science, technical innovation and societal impact.

This contribution is fully aligned with Nippon Sanso’s broader digitalization strategy and its investment in cutting-edge, ethically grounded technologies. It also reflects the company’s commitment to driving the sustainable development of Europe’s industrial sector through digital transformation. By supporting initiatives such as ELLIS Alicante, Nippon Sanso helps shape AI advancements that prioritize sustainability, transparency, and social well-being.

The agreement was ratified at the company’s headquarters in Madrid, where César Callejo, Nippon Sanso Holdings’ Executive Officer & CIO, and Dr. Nuria Oliver, co-founder and Scientific Director at ELLIS Alicante, signed the agreement between the company and the foundation.

César Callejo expressed the company’s commitment to the foundation’s work in the field of ethical and responsible AI: “We are proud to support the ELLIS Alicante Foundation and its work advancing ethical and responsible AI in Europe. This contribution reflects Nippon Sanso Group’s commitment to innovation that is sustainable, responsible, and guided by our Environmental, Social & Governance principles.”
