This data protection notice informs you about the processing of your personal data by us and the rights to which you are entitled.

2. Which sources and data are used?
Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH processes video recordings from dashcams, which could in particular result in the following personal data being processed on a case-by-case basis:
- Vehicle licence plate
- Image recordings of a person themselves (e.g. as a party to an accident or possibly a passer-by in the immediate vicinity, if an incident-related recording was made)
- Recording of an administrative offence (accident)
Recording is not carried out as ring storage, i.e. the entire route is not filmed and older video data is only overwritten when the memory is filled with video data.
Although a recording is made, it is only saved for the last four seconds before and four seconds after the event, provided that an event-related incident has occurred. This could happen, for example, as a result of abrupt braking, excessive speed or cornering too fast.
3. What is my data processed for (purpose of processing) and on what legal basis?
The processing of personal data is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller in accordance with Article 6(1) (f) GDPR.
The person responsible has a legitimate interest in tracing the course of an accident/incident in order to subsequently clarify any liability issues.
4. Who receives my data?
Your personal data will only be passed on by Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH in compliance with the GDPR and the BDSG and to clarify any liability issues.
Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH also commissions forwarding agents to deliver media, which means that this data may also be viewed by the respective forwarding agent in order to fulfil the described purpose.
Utilisation and forwarding to other bodies is not intended.
5. How long will my data be stored?
Your personal data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.
If a recording is made by mistake, for example because an emergency stop has occurred without any further consequences, the data will be deleted after one year at the latest for technical reasons, without any other processing taking place.
If the recording has taken place due to an accident or other possible liability issues, the data will be deleted after clarification of the liability issues, provided that no statutory retention periods prevent deletion. In such matters, the personal data will be deleted after the statutory retention period.
6. Is data transferred to a third country or to an international organisation?
Your data will not be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area – EEA (third countries).
7. What other data protection rights do I have?
You have the right to the following under the respective legal requirements:
- Access (Art. 15 DS-GVO),
- Rectification (Art. 16 DS-GVO),
- Erasure (Art. 17 DS-GVO),
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 DS-GVO),
- and to data portability (Art. 20 DS-GVO).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). You can assert these rights centrally against Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH.

Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH processes video recordings from dashcams, which could in particular result in the following personal data being processed on a case-by-case basis:
- Events
- Licence plate
- Image recordings of a person themselves (e.g. as a participant in an accident or possibly a passerby in the immediate vicinity, if a case-related recording occurred)
- Possibly the recording of a driver
- Recording of a traffic violation (accident)
The camera is designed to record continuously in the background. However, data is only stored on a case-by-case basis, i.e., when a previously described event occurs. Each video clip stored due to an event is 8 seconds long (4 seconds before and 4 seconds after the event
3. What is my data processed for (purpose of processing) and on what legal basis?
The processing of personal data is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller in accordance with Article 6(1) (f) GDPR.
The controller has a legitimate interest in understanding the course of an accident/mishap in order to subsequently clarify any liability issues.
4. Who receives my data?
Your personal data will only be passed on by Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH in compliance with the GDPR and the BDSG and to clarify any liability issues.
Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH also commissions freight forwarders with the delivery of products, which means that these data may also be viewed by the respective freight forwarder to fulfill the described purpose.
Use and forwarding to other bodies is not intended.
5. How long will my data be stored?
Your personal data will only be stored as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose.
If a recording is made by mistake, for example, because an emergency stop occurred without further consequences, the data will be deleted for technical reasons at the latest after one year, without any further processing taking place.
If the recording was made due to an accident or other potential liability issues, the data will be deleted after the liability issues have been clarified, provided that no legal retention periods prevent deletion. In these cases, the personal data will be deleted after the statutory retention period.
6. Is data transferred to a third country or to an international organisation?
If personal data is processed outside the EEA, it will be ensured that the processing either takes place in countries for which an adequacy decision by the EU Commission exists in accordance with Article 45 GDPR or that appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU standard contract) are provided for a data transfer in accordance with Article 46 GDPR).

With this privacy notice, we inform you about the processing of your personal data within the framework of joint controllership pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR, as well as about your rights.
Within the framework of joint controllership, the two parties described here fulfill different purposes. These purposes are transparently described in this information obligation.

2. What sources and data are used?
The aforementioned parties process video recordings from dash-cams, which may involve the processing of the following personal data on a case-by-case basis:
Party 1
- License plate numbers
- Images of people in the vicinity
- Driver data (name, first name, driver ID ID)
- Recording of an administrative offense (accident)
Party 2
- Employee data
- Contact details
- Login-Data
- Biometric data (Video recordings – dashcam)
- Driver data
- GPS-Data
In the event of an incident, a video sequence of a total of 8 seconds is saved and processed by the parties. This includes 4 seconds before and after the incident for evaluation. To technically enable this, a background recording of up to 4 minutes takes place.
The incident could be triggered, for example, by a sudden hard braking or the deployment of the airbag in the vehicle.
3. Which purposes are my data processed for (purpose of processing) and on what legal basis?
The processing of personal data is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of the controllers and/or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. The legal basis arises from Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR as well as Art. 9(2)(b) & (f) GDPR.
Party 1
Party 1 processes personal data (dash-cam recordings) for the following purposes:
- Accident or incident investigation
Party 1 has a legitimate interest in understanding the sequence of events in the case of an accident or incident, for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
Party 2
Party 2 pursues the following purposes, which may involve the processing of personal data (dash-cam recordings:
- Installation
- Operation of hardware and software
- Use of recordings for operational purposes
- Troubleshooting
- Accident or incident investigation
Party 2 has a legitimate interest in understanding the sequence of events in the case of an accident or incident, for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
4. Who receives my data?
Your personal data will only be shared by the parties in compliance with the GDPR and the BDSG and for the purposes mentioned above.
The use and forwarding of the data for other purposes is not intended.
5. How long are my data stored?
Your personal If a recording is made by mistake, for example, due to a sudden hard braking without further consequences, the data will be deleted for technical reasons at the latest after one year, without any further processing taking place. Generally, deletion occurs after the evaluation.
If the recording took place due to an accident or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, the data will be deleted after these legal claims have been clarified, provided that no further retention is required. In these cases, the personal data will be deleted after the legally prescribed retention period.
6. Are data transferred to a third country or an international organisation?
In the course of order processing, personal data are also processed in a third country. Appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR are in place for this (conclusion of an EU standard contract).
A copy for review can be requested via the above-mentioned contact details of the Data Protection Officer.
7. What other data protection rights do I have?
Under the respective legal conditions, you have the right to:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR),
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- As well as data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
You can exercise these rights centrally with either of the two mentioned parties..
