2. Which sources and data are used?

Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH processes video recordings from dashcams, which could in particular result in the following personal data being processed on a case-by-case basis:

The camera is designed to record continuously in the background. However, data is only stored on a case-by-case basis, i.e., when a previously described event occurs. Each video clip stored due to an event is 8 seconds long (4 seconds before and 4 seconds after the event

3. What is my data processed for (purpose of processing) and on what legal basis?

The processing of personal data is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller in accordance with Article 6(1) (f) GDPR.

The controller has a legitimate interest in understanding the course of an accident/mishap in order to subsequently clarify any liability issues.

4. Who receives my data?

Your personal data will only be passed on by Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH in compliance with the GDPR and the BDSG and to clarify any liability issues.

Nippon Sanso Deutschland GmbH also commissions freight forwarders with the delivery of products, which means that these data may also be viewed by the respective freight forwarder to fulfill the described purpose.

Use and forwarding to other bodies is not intended.

5. How long will my data be stored?

Your personal data will only be stored as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose.

If a recording is made by mistake, for example, because an emergency stop occurred without further consequences, the data will be deleted for technical reasons at the latest after one year, without any further processing taking place.

If the recording was made due to an accident or other potential liability issues, the data will be deleted after the liability issues have been clarified, provided that no legal retention periods prevent deletion. In these cases, the personal data will be deleted after the statutory retention period.

6. Is data transferred to a third country or to an international organisation?

If personal data is processed outside the EEA, it will be ensured that the processing either takes place in countries for which an adequacy decision by the EU Commission exists in accordance with Article 45 GDPR or that appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU standard contract) are provided for a data transfer in accordance with Article 46 GDPR).
